Customer service rep by night, photography hobbyist and mild-mannered composer by day.  I like to travel when I can afford it, but rarely stray far from home.  I hope soon to have a collection here of some of the best sites the Tennessee Valley has to offer.  Hopefully by years end I'll have a series of cave entrances (Not the interior of the caves themselves-unfortunately-due to White Nose Syndrome) located in various wildlife preserves in the area.  I'm still working on obtaining the permission to get access to some of the properties, and some of them will require special planning as they can only be accessed by boat without tresspassing on private land.

Hobby photographer

Shooting 360 panos is a passionate hobby of mine. I have been creating 360 panos since 2004 when I was using a Nikon D70 and a 12-24 wide angle lens. Nowadays I try to sneak in a few panos every time I take a holiday with my trusty old 5D MkII. Currently I am  the Academic Director of FX School - a digital media Institute in Mumbai, India

I am member of the local photo club. I enjoy to learn from many different people with very different interests, but my favourite subject is creating spherical panoramas. I think its because i found it is hard to show the beautyful athmosphere of some special places in 2D flat pictures.

As you see on my profile photo, every picture tells a story. The story of this picture is that my father, who was an excellent amateur photographer, took this photo of me when I was five years old. This was a prediction for my future life. After having studied design and photography in Cologne, Germany, in the seventies, I have been working as a professional in photojournalism, documentation and studio photography. My ambition for panoramic photography started in the eighties with a russian 120° horizon camera. This was a pretty good tool for landscape and capturing live scenes as well. In the new millenium QTVR came up, my first experiencies with ipix/coolpix were rather disappointing concerning image quality and the horrible ipix policy. I changed to professional DSLR with the legendary nikkor 8mm fisheye lens and appropriate software. Now I have got the experience of hundreds of threesixties I shot in the last six years for museums, companies and documentation. My idea is, apart from optimal documentation via VR, to fill the scenes with life. There are some examples in my portfolio among others, which are traditional.
